ENDOSCOPY+

Endoscopy is a technique used to examine the interior regions of hollow organs, especially the upper part of gastro intestinal tract. The following are the indications, in which endoscopy is required.

  • Symptoms in the digestive system like abdominal pain, gastro intestinal bleeding, difficulty in swallowing, nausea, vomiting.
  • In treatment such as cauterization of a bleeding vessel, widening a narrow esophagus, clipping of a polyp or removing a foreign object.

Uses of Endoscopy

Endoscopy is used for review the following body parts

  • Colon/ large intestine
  • Rectum and anus (Proctoscopy)

EEG+

Electro encephalography (EEG) is an electrophysiological monitoring method to record electrical activity of the brain.

  • EEG is most often used to diagnose Epilepsy.
  • EEG is used to diagnose sleep disorders, coma, encephalopathy and brain death.
  • EEG is used as the first line method for tumors, stroke and focal brain disorders.
  • EEG helps in distinguishing epileptic seizures from type of spells such as psychogenic non-epileptic seizures, syncope (fainting), sub-cortical movement disorders and migraine variants.
